Committee process and timeline

The volunteer recruitment period begins each year in September and goes through October.  Prior to the open-volunteer period, a Volunteer Fair will be held at the association office for those interested in learning more about each committee.

During the volunteer-recruitment period, any active Realtor® member of the association and/or any active CMLS Subscriber can visit the committee page at www.CarolinaRealtors.com and complete the online process. Each member will be asked to first complete a volunteer-profile questionnaire and then choose his or her top-three committee choices. Please note: Association committees are limited to association primary members only.

After the open-volunteer recruitment period closes, the Executive Committee will review the names and profiles of each volunteer. The Executive Committee will then determine which individuals will be placed on each committee. The Executive Committee will evaluate placements by considering members' committee preferences and volunteer profiles.

Following approval by the Executive Committee, participants of the online-volunteer recruitment process will receive notification regarding whether each was chosen to serve on a committee.

In late December or early January, the committee staff liaison will contact all committee members with a proposed meeting schedule for the year. Please note: Not all committees will meet as a group and not all committees will meet on a monthly basis.
